Moranjee Stud is dedicated to the horse.
We are not tunnel visioned or one-eyed, to mix our metaphors. Thoroughbreds, Australian Stock Horses and Quarter Horses all enjoy the paddocks at Moranjee.
We have a focused goal, to breed the best, no matter the discipline. To achieve that end, we have travelled this vast country in search of the best brood mares we could find, you will find them detailed for you here.
We hold firm to the belief that QUALITY BROODMARES are the foundations of a stud’s success.
The name "Moranjee", a word drawn from the language of the original custodians of this nation, means "a peaceful place", something all young horses need for the right start in life.
Our founders and staff have over one and a half centuries of experience with the horse between them. We are all horsemen involved in the business of horses, not, (as is often the case these days), the other way around. The love of the horse has driven Moranjee since day one.
Located on the lush creek flats and basalt mountain ranges of Christmas Creek, south of Beaudesert, the stud's location was no accident. The physical environment gives young horses a head start in life. When we decided to expand our activities to include thoroughbred stallions, we again looked far and wide for the best we could find.
When choosing a stallion for your mare, this is clearly one area where money doesn't always guarantee a result. Many high priced stallions fail, some spectacularly so. Some simply don't stay around long enough for us to know if they could have been any good.
